XMRExchange Monero (XMR) to Bitcoin (BTC)

Coming out of Monero is the moment that decides what the outside world will be able to read later. This page is the direction itself — send XMR, receive BTC — plus what changes about visibility the second you cross back.

Where the trail restarts

Your Monero deposit is unreadable from the outside: an observer cannot see the amount, the sender or which output was really spent. Nothing about that side ends up in a public database.

The bitcoin you receive is the opposite. From the moment it lands, that output has a permanent public history, and every later move you make with it extends the same chain of records. Chain-analysis firms specialise in exactly this: the point where a private coin becomes a public one.

So the practical advice is about the receiving address, not about us. A fresh address in a wallet you control, kept apart from addresses already tied to your name at an exchange, is what keeps the two sides of your activity from being merged by somebody else's software.

How this direction is executed

Out of Monero the route is a pass-through. A partner exchange takes your XMR at the deposit address shown on the order page and pays bitcoin to the address you name. We do not hold your Monero in between; the trade is created for your order and priced when it is created.

That is also where our revenue comes from on this direction: the partner fee inside the quoted rate, not a markup added afterwards. The number you are shown is the number the route pays.

One consequence worth knowing: the deposit address belongs to the executing partner, and it is generated for this order. Send once, send the amount the order names, and do not reuse the address later — a second payment to a finished order has to be sorted out by hand.

Floating rate, guaranteed minimum

Monero routes are quoted floating, because that is how the partner exchanges price them. The rate you see is a live quote, and the payout is stated as a guaranteed minimum with a small buffer built in — we would rather commit to a number we can keep than to a prettier one we cannot.

Between your deposit landing, Monero's confirmations and the partner filling the trade, the market has time to move. When it moves in your favour, you get the better amount.

How long it takes

Monero needs its own confirmations first — usually around twenty minutes for the handful of blocks a partner will want to see, sometimes a bit more when the network is busy.

The bitcoin payout follows once the trade fills, and then Bitcoin adds its own confirmation time on top. Half an hour end to end is a fair expectation; a large order can take longer.

Before you send

Check the receiving address character by character. A bitcoin payout is final — there is no undo, and an address typed wrong belongs to somebody else or to nobody at all.

Give a Monero refund address as well. If the partner cannot complete the trade, that is where the XMR goes back; without it a return becomes a manual claim through support instead of an automatic transfer.
