LTCExchange Litecoin (LTC) to Monero (XMR)

Litecoin is how a great many people reach Monero: cheap to withdraw, quick to confirm, and still listed on venues that quietly dropped XMR years ago. This page is the last step of that route — send LTC, receive Monero at an address you name, with no account and no document.

Why the route goes through Litecoin at all

Most people who arrive here are not Litecoin holders. They bought LTC elsewhere precisely because that venue does not sell Monero — several of the largest exchanges delisted it under regulatory pressure — and litecoin is one of the cheapest and fastest things to withdraw once you are there.

That makes Litecoin a bridge rather than a destination: the withdrawal fee is already paid, so what remains is the confirmation time ahead and whether the final hop asks who you are. This one does not. Nor does the route require litecoin specifically — if you can move something else out cheaply, the form above takes it.

What Litecoin's ledger shows

Litecoin's chain is public in the way Bitcoin's is: amounts, timestamps and addresses readable by anyone, permanently. If the litecoin you are about to send was withdrawn from an exchange account in your name, that account and this deposit sit on the same public record, and nothing downstream can undo it.

Litecoin does have an optional confidential layer, MWEB. It is off by default and most exchanges will not withdraw into it, so unless you have deliberately arranged otherwise, treat your deposit as an ordinary, fully visible transaction.

The Monero payout is where the trail stops: ring signatures, stealth addresses and hidden amounts leave an outside observer unable to read who received what, and nothing on either chain ties the two sides together. Who does know is us, while the order runs, and the partner exchange filling the Monero leg — the honest limit of what any exchange can offer.

Two legs behind one order

The NEAR Intents liquidity we use for ordinary pairs does not support Monero, so this direction runs in two parts: your litecoin is swapped into an intermediate asset that settles to an account of ours, then a partner exchange sells that asset for XMR and pays out to your address.

You see one order and one deposit address. The split matters in exactly one way — both legs are priced live, so the figure quoted is a guaranteed minimum rather than a forecast, and a move in your favour while the deposit confirms stays with you.

Two and a half minutes a block

Litecoin's block time is a quarter of Bitcoin's, which is most of why this route feels quick: confirmations that would occupy the better part of an hour on Bitcoin usually take minutes here, and fees are low enough that underpaying them rarely makes sense.

After the deposit confirms, the swap and the Monero payout typically land within minutes. Larger orders can run longer, because the second leg is a real trade at a partner venue rather than a number moved inside a database.

Three address formats on one side, two on the other

Litecoin has three address formats in circulation: legacy beginning with L, P2SH beginning with M, and bech32 beginning with ltc1. Send to the address on your order page exactly as it appears. The mistake that cannot be reversed is the network — Litecoin and Bitcoin formats resemble each other enough to be confused in a hurry.

Your payout address has to be a Monero one — a standard address starting with 4, or a subaddress starting with 8. Either is fine. Integrated addresses carrying a payment ID are the single case to avoid.

If something does not complete

Give a refund address. When a leg cannot be finished — a partner declining the trade, a deposit arriving after the quote expired — the funds go back there automatically, on the Litecoin network, so make it an address you control.

Leave it empty and the return becomes a manual operation through support, which is slower and needs you to show the order is yours. Keep the order link too: there is no account here, so it is the only way back.
